Ben Affleck Finally Responds To The Sad Affleck Meme

The Internet can be a strange yet wonderful place, and that undeniable fact was proven last year shortly before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hit theaters. Fans of the DC Universe watched as Ben Affleck was turned into a meme thanks to one interview that saw the star looking a bit downtrodden. When a netizen chose to overlay Simon and Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence" over the footage, the clip blew up and become an unstoppable meme around the world.

And, now, Affleck has finally acknowledge the 'Sad Affleck' meme head on.

During a recent interview with BBC, the actor was asked about what he learned from Batman v Superman given its massive scale. Jokingly, Affleck said he learned to not look so sad during interviews.

"It taught me not to do interviews with Henry Cavill where I don't say anything and they can lay Simon & Garfunkel tracks over it. That's one thing I learned."

Of course, the actor then went on to say the true knowledge he gained from the film had to do with technology and filmmaking. But, still, his first answer is an appropriate one. Even today, the 'Sad Affleck' meme is a force to be reckoned with and can be found on almost any site.

So, for now, fans will have to see whether Affleck learned from the ordeal or not. When Justice League debuts this year, it will be a true test for the acclaimed star and director.
