Cody Rhodes Is Bringing His Stardust Dealer Back to Arrow

Wrestling star Cody Rhodes will return to Arrow before the end of The CW series' fifth season, IGN reports.

Rhodes's Arrow character, Derek Sampson, was a drug dealer who was transformed into a nearly-indestructible supervillain after a botched encounter with Team Arrow.

IGN reports Rhodes will return in the season's twenty-first episode, which will debut near the end of the season in late April or early May.

"In pro wrestling, the suspension of disbelief is the endgame, but we moved the relationship from pro wrestling not only to Arrow but just in general," Rhodes told ComicBook.com before his first episode aired back in October. "We've done a lot of charity work together, and when you do something like that, that area is gray. It's not black, it's not white. It always feels very competitive with him. It felt competitive when he came to our world in terms of a wrestling ring, competing with himself and how he was able to hold up with a current roster of wrestlers. When I came to his world, I was looking at that salmon ladder on day one, and I was waiting for him at any minute to bust out a salmon ladder challenge. He was very busy and I didn't want to distract him, but I sat by it in case he was ready to do it. I really like being able to move that relationship forward. I didn't think Arrow would come in the way that it did in terms of being on this episode, and I feel really lucky to be on this episode and I feel really lucky to have made a friend. It sounds cheesy, but I've been traveling and on the road for ten years and it's not easy to make a friend."

No word yet on what the episode's title will be, although fans can probably expect that sooner than most shows, since executive producer Marc Guggenheim typically reveals the title, writers, and director of each episode at the time production begins. Most recently, he revealed the title of the season's twentieth episode, "Underneath."

Based on the characters from DC, ARROW is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (The Flash, Supergirl), Marc Guggenheim (Eli Stone, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters), Andrew Kreisberg (The Flash, Supergirl), Wendy Mericle (Desperate Housewives, Eli Stone) and Sarah Schechter (Supergirl, Blindspot).
