Before DC's Legends of Tomorrow went on its midseason hiatus, the series made sure to note that Rip Hunter was pursuing a rather interesting profession. The legends learned that the Time Master was working as a director over in Los Angeles during the late-1960s. Of course, the timeframe is a sacred one to many sci-fi fans as it marked a time wherein George Lucas was working on the original Star Wars trilogy.

And, now, fans have learned the iconic director will make a cameo in the second-half of DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Well, sort of.

Thanks to an exclusive report by Entertainment Weekly, fans know that Matt Angel has been cast to play a young George Lucas. The actor, who is know for his work on Grimm, will star in the second season's ninth episode.

"Because of circumstances, the time aberration in episode 209 is George Lucas quits film school," executive producer Marc Guggenheim explained. "As a result, he never makes Star Wars or Raiders of the Lost Ark. As a result, Ray, who became an engineer because of Star Wars, and Nate, who became a historian because of Raiders, slowly start to lose their brilliance, because those things that inspired them to become who they are didn't exist."

Guggenheim continued to gush about the episode and said it will mark a turning point for the superhero series for better or worse.

"We were watching a cut of it, and I said to Greg [Berlanti] that 209 is either going to be the episode where we'll say that the show found a new gear in terms of how zany it can be, or it's the episode that's going to get us all fired," he joked. "It really is. You're laughing out loud, I think with it, but it's like, 'Are we really doing this?' It's the '70s bar fight on steroids. The whole episode is that level of crazy."

When DC's Legends of Tomorrow returns to The CW, the second season will do so with plenty of new villains on its side. The Legion of Doom is set to make an appearance as Eobard Thawne, Damien Darhk, and Malcolm Merlyn man the devious team. A recently released trailer highlighted the nefarious group shortly before Christmas, and the clip also teased that the baddies had Rip Hunter in their captivity.

Based on the characters from DC Comics, DC's Legends of Tomorrow is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl), Marc Guggenheim (Arrow, Eli Stone, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters), Andrew Kreisberg (Arrow, The Flash, Eli Stone, Warehouse 13), Phil Klemmer (The Tomorrow People, Chuck), Chris Fedak (Forever, Chuck), and Sarah Schechter (Arrow, The Flash).
