First Look at the Legion of Super-Heroes/Bugs Bunny Crossover

DC has released an official preview of Legion of Super-Heroes/Bugs Bunny Special #1, from writer Sam Humphries and the art team of Tom Grummett and Scott Hanna.

It's one of a handful of crossover one-shots hitting the stands throughout June from DC, with superheroes teaming up with, or even fighting, characters from the Looney Tunes cartoons.

As with the Martian Manhunter/Marvin the Martian Special preview released earlier, this one seems to change up styles wildly between the main feature and the backup -- although this time around, the backup evokes the feel of classic Legion of Super-Heroes comics, rather than a Looney Tunes episode.

It isn't unheard-of for the Warner Bros.-owned DC characters to interact in various ways with Warner Animation's Looney Tunes world...but generally, it's just that: they're taking the party TO Earth-Looney Tunes, so to speak, and existed on their terms. Here, it appears the Looney Tunes characters are being brought...if not to the DC Universe itself, then to a world not unlike the ones being fashioned in DC's Hanna-Barbera adaptations like The Flintstones and Future Quest.

The Legion of Super-Heroes always thought they had taken their inspiration from the 21st Century's Superboy. But when they try to bring that hero into their future time, the team discovers to their surprise the caped champion isn't who—or even what—they expected! And the bonus Looney Tunes backup story features DC characters with story and art by Juan Ortiz!
