Gal Gadot Responds To Wonder Woman Salary Controversy

With Wonder Woman's success at the box office — it's now the highest-grossing DC Extended Universe movie domestically — it's understandable why fans were upset when they found out actress Gal Gadot only received a salary of $300,00 for her portrayal of the movie's titular character.
Stopped by the paparazzi website TMZ, Gadot finally spoke on the issue, and the little she said speaks volumes.
"I'm grateful and happy," the humble Israeli actress told TMZ.

In comparison, an Elle article earlier this month reported that Man of Steel's Henry Cavill — the actor behind the DCEU's Clark Kent/Superman — earned a massive $14,000,000 for his role in his first solo DCEU flick. That report was later debunked in a more extensive report by Vanity Fair, which broke down how Cavill earned a lot in box office percentages for his first Superman role - a contractual opportunity it's speculated that Gadot could soon benefit from.
As the photographer went on to insist that Gadot deserved more for her next film — a statement we all agree with — the actress remained light-hearted.
"I think I should get you as my lawyer to do the negotiations," she quipped.

Wonder Woman is in theaters now, followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, The Batman, Dark Universe and Man of Steel 2 are currently without a release dates.
