Gotham City Sirens Could Start Production By Summer 2017

Gotham City Sirens has been picking up a lot of steam over the last few weeks, as Margot Robbie and David Ayer have become attached to the budding project.

Robbie will reprise her role as Harley Quinn in the spin-off, and she will lead the Siren team that consists of Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy. Much like Suicide Squad, Gotham City Sirens will follow a group of more villainous characters, but they will be considered the protagonists.

David Ayer wrote and directed Suicide Squad, and he has been tapped to return for Gotham City Sirens. For this movie, however, Ayer will only act as the director.

According to Forbes reporter and Mark Hughes, the Sirens movie could begin production much earlier than anyone expected. The movie may have just been announced, but Hughes stated that production was probably starting by summer 2017. Along with that announcement, Hughes claimed that casting news could probably be expected soon.

Hughes announced this information in a tweet on Thursday, when responding to a fan who had asked about the project. This also came on the heels of Hughes answering another fan question, stating that a Jutice League trailer could be expected "pretty soon".
