Gotham Midseason Premiere: Ghosts Photos Released

Even though we are still weeks away from the return of Gotham, FOX has released a dozen stills from its midseason premiere — which is titled "Ghosts."

Since FOX hasn't released an official synopsis for the episode yet, we can only guess from these photos what is in store for our favorite characters when the second-half begins. One of the more interesting images is of Carmine Falcone in the police department. He's confronting Jim Gordon about killing his only son, Mario, in the midseason finale. While the killing was clearly justified to viewers — since Mario was infected by the Tetch virus and was about to stab his new bride, Lee — Carmine, Lee, and many others will probably view it as an unnecessary death carried out by a jealous ex-fiancée.

Other images show Gordon and Bullock looking uncomfortable as they investigate a case, Penguin with a pained expression on his face, and Riddler giving the camera an icy glare. Additionally, we get our first look at guest-star David Dastmalchian, who is known for his roles in Ant-Man and The Dark Knight.

Gotham is based upon DC characters and is produced by Warner Bros. Television. Bruno Heller (The Mentalist, Rome), Danny Cannon (the CSI franchise, Nikita), John Stephens (Gossip Girl) and Ken Woodruff (The Mentalist) serve as executive producers on the series.

The midseason permiere of Gotham's third season, which is titled "Ghosts," will air Monday, January 16 at 8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT on FOX.
