Justice League: First Look At Amber Heard As Mera

Warner Bros. and DC Films have released the first images of Amber Heard as Mera, wife of Aquaman and Queen of Atlantis, in Justice League.

The images, released via IGN, include early sketches and full concept art of Mera, plus an actual production shot of Amber Heard in full costume filming Justice League, taken by director Zack Snyder himself.

Mera is expected to play a supporting role in Justice League, and to be the female lead of James Wan's Aquaman movie, starring Jason Momoa as Aquaman, King of Atlantis.

Justice League recently wrapped filming in London and moved production to Iceland. Jason Momoa is known to be on location and Iceland. The reveal of Mera suggests perhaps we'll see some interaction between the King and Queen of Atlantis.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder, from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, and stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa and Ray Fisher.

Justice League opens in theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.
