Is Katheryn Winnick Teasing Black Canary Announcement At Comic-Con?

The DC Extended Universe is growing more than ever, with a whole slew of characters set to join the cinematic universe in the next few years. And if speculation is correct, a fan-favorite actress could be joining its ranks in the very near future as the Black Canary.
Katheryn Winnick, who is best known for portraying Lagertha on Vikings, recently teased a secret project on her Instagram story. The actress revealed, in the video that you can watch below, that the project in question will be announced during this month's San Diego Comic-Con.
While the announcement itself is rather vague, fans have begun to speculate - Could Winnick be entering the DCEU, possibly as Dinah Lance/Black Canary?
The actress has expressed an interest in the role since 2013, even inspiring some pretty awesome fanart of her in the character's signature leather ensemble. Winnick actually reposted that fanart without context a few months ago, adding fuel to the speculation that she could be playing the role.
And although there are no major big screen outings for the fan-favorite character currently planned, many fans have speculated that Black Canary could make some sort of appearance in Batgirl or Gotham City Sirens. With Warner Bros. promising to tease a whole slew of films at this year's SDCC, casting announcements for either of those films could be within the realm of possibility.
As of right now, it's unclear if the project Winnick will be announcing is actually tied to the DCEU, or if its something else altogether. But for those who have been advocating for Winnick's casting (this writer included), it's worth hoping for.

Simmons (Commissioner Gordon), Amber Heard (Mera), Kiersey Clemons (Iris West) and Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor).
Wonder Woman is in theaters now, followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, The Batman, Dark Universe and Man of Steel 2 are currently without a release dates.
