Game of Thrones Lena Headey Comments on Playing DCEU Catwoman

Game of Thrones has made actress Lena Headey a worldwide star, as fans love to hate her as the evil and conniving Cersei Lannister. However, Game of Thornes hasn't been Headey's only geek-friendly project: the actress has a starring role in the 300 franchise (based on the comic book series), and she also played the memorable villain in the cult-hit reboot film, Dredd.

With that kind of star power and resume behind her, it's a wonder that Headey hasn't joined any of the big franchise universes; her Game of Thrones castmates are certainly taking advantage, with Emilia Clarke joining the Star Wars franchise, Peter Dinklage recently signing on with Marvel, and Sophie Turner having made her debut in the X-Men universe.

Well, one of Heady's fans posed a serious question for the actress: Why isn't she playing Catwoman/Selina Kyle in the DC Extended Universe? The outspoken Headey had a response that fans will probably love (see above).

It's actually not bad casting when you think about it! Headey has the wit and attitude to be a great Selina Kyle, and as we saw in Dredd she can definitely have an intimidating animalistic edge - while rocking a badass short hairdo. More to the point: it's easy to imagine an actress like Headey having a flirty electric chemistry (mixed with formidable rivalry) opposite Ben Affleck's Batman.

Catwoman / Selina Kyle is rumored to be one of the main characters in Suicide Squad director David Ayer's Harley Quinn spinoff film, Gotham City Sirens. It's not hard to see Headey also sharing the screen with Robbie - playing a sort of criminal mentor/friend to Harley Quinn.

Right now, Magnificent Seven star Haley Bennett is rumored to be a possible casting pick for DCEU Catwoman - but who wants to see Lena Headey playing Catwoman in the DCEU? Let us know in the comments and on Twitter!
