Lynda Carter To Get Star On The Hollywood Walk of Fame

Lynda Carter — the original Wonder Woman herself — is receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced this week.

Carter, 65, is widely known for her portrayal Diana Prince as the Wonder Woman TV show of the 1970s, having portrayed the character for three seasons from 1975 to 1979.

After her time as the Princess of Themyscira, Carter went on to act in other superhero-based productions including Disney's Sky High (2005) and Warner Brothers' Smallville (2007).

Carter has also dabbled in voice acting, lending her voice to various video game projects like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and its sequel The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

The actress most recently played President Olivia Marsdin on The CW's Supergirl this past season and has all the potential to return to the role once Supergirl returns to The CW this Fall.

Carter joins 23 other celebrities in the 2018 Hollywood Walk of Fame Class including pop culture icons Mark Hamill and Jeff Goldblum. The members announced —or their respective management teams — have two years from the date of their announcement to schedule an unveiling ceremony.

Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins and is written by Allan Heinberg, Geoff Johns, and Zack Snyder. The film stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis (Etta Candy), Danny Huston, Ewen Bremmer, Doutzen Kroes, Samantha Jo (Euboea), Florence Kasumba (Senator Acantha), Said Taghmaoui, Eleanor Matsuura (Epione), Emily Carey (Young Diana), and Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe).
