Patrick Wilson Starts Getting In Shape For Aquaman Role

12/20/2016 07:23 pm EST

It was announced last week that veteran actor Patrick Wilson had been cast in the Aquaman solo movie, hitting theaters in 2018. Wilson has taken the role of Orm, Aquaman's evil step-brother - the one and only Ocean Master.

It was no surprise that Wilson was given the role given his current standing with the filmmaking team. He has worked on a DC film before - Wilson played Nite Owl in Zack Snyder's The Watchmen. The actor has also starred in both movies in The Conjuring franchise, and both were helmed by Aquaman director James Wan.

James Wan and Patrick Wilson both made the announcement of his role on Twitter, and it looks like Wilson has now taken to the social media site to show how hard he's preparing for the part.

Actress Marika Dominczyk, Patrick Wilson's sister-in-law, posted a picture of the two of them in a tweet. The photo showed both actors after a difficult-looking workout.

Wilson retweeted the picture, and added his own caption - this one pertaining to his role in Aquaman.

Along with the photo, Wilson stated that "Orm has to prepare for a battle or two."

This kind of comment is just a clever quip by the actor, but it does seem to mean that Orm could be seeing plenty of action in the movie. No word on a plot has been released so far.

Patrick Wilson is a pretty athletic guy, but it's gonna take plenty of time in the gym if he's going to face-off with Jason Momoa anytime soon. Nothing against Wilson, but Momoa is some kind of beast.
