Powerless: Which Wayne Security Employee Is One of Aquaman's Subjects?

Tonight's Powerless provided an awesome Easter egg, connecting another one of the seemingly ordinary members of Wayne Security to the world of a famous DC Comics character.

In the opening minutes of tonight's episode, 'Sinking Day', the group from Wayne Security watched a news report about Atlantis, which was referred to as the home of Aquaman and actor William H. Macy. Ron (Ron Funches) remarked that he also hails from the oceanic kingdom.

Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) remarked that she thought Ron had previously said he was from Atlanta, to which Ron replied "No, that's Donald Glover" (in reference to the actor's award-winning sitcom.)

This is the second main character of Powerless to have a connection to a core DC character. Wayne Security's boss, Van Wayne (Alan Tudyk), frequently discusses the fact that he's the cousin of Bruce Wayne.

While we can safely assume that Aquaman himself will not be seen on Powerless, especially with him shaping up to be a major part of the DCEU, this revelation creates an interesting connection between the show and the iconic character's world. And with Powerless' trend of borrowing from the obscure sides of DC Comics, there is a chance that some sort of Atlantean subjects could make their way onto the show.

VAN'S INCOMPETENCE PUTS EMILY IN A TOUGH SPOT - When the team loses a client due to Van's (Alan Tudyk) incompetence, Emily (Vanessa Hudgens) seeks to clinch a deal with the people of Atlantis. Because of his massive screw up, Van's father (guest star Corbin Bernsen) takes notice and sets him on a patch to redeem himself. Meanwhile, new employee Alex (guest star Matthew Atkinson) starts at the office and Teddy (Danny Pudi) and Ron (Ron Funches) are convinced he is a superhero.

Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, Len Goldstein, Marc Buckland and Dean Lorey are executive producers of Powerless. Buckland served as the director of the pilot. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television and is based on the characters from DC.
