Stephen Amell Teases Tremendous Diggle & Oliver Role Reversal Scene For Season 6

Season 6 of Arrow will see longtime characters stretched in new ways, and that will go for their relationships as well.

Fans will definitely see a new wrinkle in Diggle's relationship with Oliver, who have had their share of growing pains over the years. The cast of Arrow sat down with ComicBook.com's Jim Viscardi to talk about a change in roles that fans will most assuredly notice.

"We had a tremendous scene the other day," Stephen Amell said. "It's a flashback...maybe, but it was nice because it was a little bit inverted to what the normal Oliver Diggle scene is. Like I felt like I was playing Diggle's role. It was really cool."

Diggle's world is going to undergo some changes as well, which will spur on that change in dynamic between the Team Arrow stalwarts.

"Specifically for Diggle, I think he's going to lose some things, this relationship is going to change between he and Oliver. Ya know I'm going to need him in a way I don't think I've needed him before. Some of the mentor student aspect of our relationship."

Fans aren't sure who else is actually going to be on Team Arrow after the explosive season finale. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim did confirm though you shouldn't expect replacements, saying, "Regardless of what the size of the team is, post-season 5, we are not looking right now to add additional people to it."

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), his vigilante-trained sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Deputy Mayor Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and his new recruits, street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez) and meta-human Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy).

Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his "family".

Supergirl premieres on Monday, October 9th at 8 pm, while The Flash debuts on Tuesday, October 10 at 8 pm. Legends of Tomorrow moves to Tuesdays this Fall, airing right after The Flash on October 10. On Thursday, October 12 at 9 pm Arrow will premiere to round out the DC roster.
