Supergirl Season 2 Episode 3: Welcome to Earth Photos Released

A day after Supergirl's Season 2 premiere provided The CW with its best Monday ratings in eight years, the television network has released a whole slew of official images from the third episode of this season, which is titled "Welcome to Earth."

The images feature Supergirl looking especially gleeful as she watches Madam President Olivia Marsdin, played by former Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter, give a public speech in National City; the president visiting the Department of Extranormal Operations (DEO) headquarters; and our first look at Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer, a National City Police Department detective who takes a special interest in cases involving aliens.

An attack is made on the President (guest star Lynda Carter) as hot-button, alien vs. human rights issues heat up in National City. Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and the DEO are assigned to protect the President and bring in the responsible party. Alex (Chyler Leigh) teams up with Detective Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima) to investigate the case while Kara searches for a recently escaped Mon-El (Chris Wood), who she fears may be the alien behind the assault.

Tank Girl and Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare director Rachel Talalay, who recently helmed the "Fast Lane" episode of The Flash, directed the episode, which was written by Jessica Queller and Derek Simon.

Distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. International Television Distribution, SUPERGIRL is executive produced by Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash), Ali Adler (The New Normal), Andrew Kreisberg (The Flash, Arrow) and Sarah Schechter (Blindspot, The Mysteries of Laura). Supergirl is based on the characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and appearing in DC Comics, by special arrangement with the Jerry Siegel Family.

"Welcome to Earth" episode of Supergirl will air Monday, October 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
