Supergirl To Explore Relationship Between Martian Manhunter And Miss Martian

When Supergirl comes back from its break, it seems like Winn and James, who crushed on Kara all throughout season 1, will be the only ones without a romantic subplot.

After teasing the characters along throughout the first half of the season, Supergirl producers say that they will explore a relationship between J'Onn J'Onzz (Martian Manhunter) and M'Gann M'Orzz (Miss Martian) as the season progresses.

Almost immediately after M'Gann was introduced, J'Onn was eager to mind-meld with her, the first step in creating a truly intimate Martian relationship, but she declined -- because she was secretly a White Martian.

Later, however, her secret was revealed -- and J'Onn briefly even took on some White Martian traits of his own after a blood transfusion from M'Gann saved his life.

"His relationship with M'gann is an important one over this next batch of episodes," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told EW's Spoiler Room. "There is some really great stuff for David [Harewood] and Sharon [Leal] that we are really excited about. We love Sharon's performance and we love seeing David and Sharon together, it's some of our favorite stuff this season. We've been really lucky with our romantic pairings this season and we really think that J'onn and M'gann have a great storyline coming up."

That's in addition to the romance between Alex Danvers and Maggie Sawyer heating up, and Supergirl's potential relationship with Mon-El starting to take shape, as well.

Of course, that second one might be endangered if he doesn't start revealing whatever secrets he's hiding before she learns them from the mysterious aliens out to get him.
