Rumor: The Flash Has A Finished Script & New Title

When it comes to The Flash, it seems like Warner Bros. just can't get its feet on the ground. The film is one of the studios' most anticipated projects, but it has had a rough time getting off the ground. After losing two directors, The Flash has been at a standstill since Rick Famuyiwa exited the project last year. With its director's seat empty, Warner Bros. has been taking its time looking for a director, but it seems as if the studio has been making strides with The Flash behind-the-scenes. If recent rumors are to be believed, then Warner Bros. has recently finished its current script take on The Flash and even gifted it was a new title of sorts.

Over on Reddit, the popular r/DCEULeaks community has caught the attention of fans yet again. User @WBUT7 recently posted a slew of rumored information about Warner Bros. impending DC line-up, and it contains some surprising reports about The Flash. The user, who claims their information comes from Warner's offices, had the following to say about the project.

"The script has been completed and approved after MANY drafts and rewrites. The studio has finally approved a very good script, with some calling it "a perfect coming of age story regarding a young man trying to control his power". There have not been that much more conversation regarding this film, although they have been very excited," he wrote.

"Apparently the script was "heavily" influenced by a specific comic story and given an interesting nickname. The name might not be "The Scarlet Speedster" but that is a rumor ever since the script was turned in."

Of course, none of this information has been verified by Warner Bros, but the reported leak does give fans some food for thought. Recently, DC diehards were taken back when reports surfaced that Warner Bros. had created a director's shortlist for The Flash. The list, which includes the likes of Robert Zemeckis, hit the Internet and spread quickly. The sudden news makes much more sense if Warner Bros. has been working behind-the-scenes to get The Flash's script lined up for a new director to make additional tweaks to.

Still, there are plenty of fans who are skeptical about the film's rumored name. Using 'The Scarlet Speedster' as a subheading makes little sense given the DCEU's previous naming convention, but there is a chance the title is only being used in-office at Warner Bros. The name could even be operating as a working title, but Warner Bros. has a history of picking more abstract names for such things. For instance, Aquaman is currently filming under the working title "Ahab."

For now, fans can only wait to see what Warner Bros. has up its sleeves when it comes to The Flash. With two directors down, fans have grown more worried about the film as times passes, but the studio has assured audiences it simply wants to get its next director right. Hopefully, the third time is the charm for The Flash.
