New Prison Break Episodes Are Likely Due To The Flash, Says Wentworth Miller

Confirming what many fans already suspected, Prison Break and DC's Legends of Tomorrow star Wentworth Miller told EW that he believes Captain Cold will be brought into the Legion of Doom fold not by resurrection, but by time-travel.

During an interview at the Television Critics Association presentation for FOX's Prison Break revival, Miller said that one of the interesting elements of such a move is that it can effectively reverse the dynamic that Cold and Heat Wave (his Prison Break co-star Dominic Purcell) had during the show's first season.

Another interesting twist? Apparently, he's just as convinced as the rest of us that the Prison Break return wouldn't have happened if he and Purcell hadn't been cast as villains together on The Flash.

Before Legends of Tomorrow, that's where the pair could be found. After Miller was cast, fans started thinking that Purcell would be the perfect foil for the cool-headed (and punny) thief.

The pair memorably played Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows, the characters at the center of Prison Break, before they ever took a turn for the supervillainous. There have been a couple of references to Prison Break -- or at least to prison breaks in general -- passed along in dialogue between the two on The Flash and Legends.

"Last year on Legends, we did the prison break and I said to the writers, 'If we don't make a Prison Break joke here with Wentworth, we're not doing our jobs,'" executive producer Marc Guggenheim told reporters during a press conference for the "Invasion!" four-show crossover.
