Wonder Woman Doesn't Have Any Deleted Scenes

Director's cuts have been all the rage in superhero movies these days, but don't expect that from Wonder Woman. According to director Patty Jenkins, they kept every single scene that was shot. Nothing was cut out.

While speaking with Collider at the Wonder Woman press junket, Jenkins was asked about the possibility of seeing a director's cut in the future. Just as she did with her Oscar-winning film Monster, Jenkins only shot exactly what was needed for the final cut.

"You know, it's not like a long journey didn't happen but what amazes me is how little has actually changed from the first cut other than tightening. Little changes to the final battle, that was really it. I think that what I ended up finding about the final battle was I was hitting emotional points for Diana that I really wanted to hit but I felt a craving for some other kinds of emotional gratification and engagement that we tried to accentuate even more. I think what you learn is rhythm, tone, humor where the jokes are happening but in our case, I just now can finally say all this. We didn't cut one scene in this movie nor did we change the order of one scene in this movie from the script that we went in shooting with."

This is a big contrast to other films out there, especially those in the same genre. The previous two films, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, each had severely altered dierector's cut that came with the home release.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn revealed that the cut released in theaters was his director's cut, but there were still plenty of scenes that didn't make it into that final edit.

With Wonder Woman, it seems like Jenkins has hit the nail on the head.

The film will be released on June 2, 2017.
