Wonder Woman Fan 'Fixes' The Steve Trevor Poster

Wonder Woman will finally be getting her cinematic due this summer, as DC Films releases the Wonder Woman solo film in theaters. It's taken all of Wonder Woman's seventy-five years of existence to make it to this point - but the world is ready to let the Amazon warrior take the spotlight - and apparently, hardcore fans don't want any distractions from that milestone.

Case in point: the recent release of a new Wonder Woman poster bothered some fans, in that the poster contains an image of both Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, and Chris Pine's Steve Trevor. For those who want to see Wonder Woman being celebrated in full, having a man taking up space on a poster promoting the first female-led superhero blockbuster movie was simply unacceptable.

To that end, one fan on Twitter took the liberty of "fixing" the Wonder Woman one-sheet, so that the Amazon hero can have the spotlight all to herself:

From what we saw during our visit to the Wonder Woman set and edit bay, Chris Pine's Steve Trevor is actually an awesome addition to the Wonder Woman origin story, as Pine's cynical spy is a perfect (and charming) foil to Gadot's idealistic (and naive) Amazon.

But until fans actually get to sit down and watch Wonder Woman for themselves (and hopefully come away liking Pine's Steve Trevor), it's going to be a sensitive subject of how this movie is marketed to the masses. We've seen past controversy with movie posters and the marketing approaches they take - remember when Star Wars: The Force Awakens caught heat for its allegedly discriminatory posters in China?

Wonder Woman: Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers and her true destiny.
