Gal Gadot Reveals What She Loves About Playing Wonder Woman

With her first solo film hitting theaters earlier this year, Wonder Woman grew to be one of the most powerful characters in the pop culture landscape. But for Gal Gadot, bringing the character's vulnerabilities to life onscreen has been rewarding.

In the special features of Wonder Woman's home release, Gadot spoke about the DC Comics character's imperfect qualities - and how that positively impacted her performance.

"What I love about this character is she's not perfect." Gadot explained. "She allows herself to show her flaws. She's this open character. So I think this is something that I relate to. I'm a person who's very open. I love people."

According to Gadot, bringing those real-life qualities into her performance as Wonder Woman has been an interesting task - one that she hopes will have a larger payoff.

"I wouldn't say that I enjoy showing my flaws, but I don't mind showing my weaknesses to the outside world, because each and every one of us has their own weaknesses and flaws. So for me it's natural, and the more we feel comfortable with it, the more lovely it is."

Judging by the positive response to Gadot's performance in the film, that approach as certainly been worth it. And it already sounds like those vulnerabilities will be shown in a different light in Wonder Woman's sequel, with director Patty Jenkins already teasing a grander version of the character in the film.

Wonder Woman has an 86.52 ComicBook.com Composite Score and a 4.33 out of 5 ComicBook.com User Rating, making it the fourth-highest ranked comic book movie of all time among ComicBook.com readers.
