We've got some good news and some bad news. The good news is you won't have to stuff your face with Mountain Dew and Doritos in order to get the most out of this year's hottest shooter. The bad news is you will have to stuff your face with Rockstar Energy Drinks and Pop-Tarts. We love both of those things, but our bodies are going to hate us.

Today, Bungie and Activision revealed that Destiny 2 will be partnering with Rockstar Energy Drink and Pop-Tarts for a number of unique promotions. "In collaboration with Rockstar Energy Drink and Pop-Tarts, we chose strategic, renowned lifestyle partners in major markets to bring the Destiny 2 universe to life," said Byron Beede, Sr. Vice President of Product Management. "We're bringing these partners together to complement the overwhelming excitement of Destiny 2's launch with benefits that reward players both inside and outside of the universe." You guys know the deal: you eat, you drink, you unlock cool bonuses. So what can you look forward to in addition to a wicked sugar and caffeine rush?

First of all, you're going to get some handsome cans. Rockstar will be featuring three fan-favorite varieties -- Original, Punched Guava, and Zero Carb -- and each can will feature a unique Guardian class from Destiny 2. You'll start seeing these bad boys appearing on store shelves this month. These specially-marked cans are your ticket to unlocking some exclusive in-game gear, and they'll also serve as your entry for a few incredible daily, weekly, and grand prizes. The press release mentions a Destiny 2 themed motorcycle. Hell yes.

Toast yourself up some delicious Pop-Tarts, and you'll be able to unlock timed XP boosts. You'll want to look for the specially marked packages depicting the Destiny 2 sub-classes, which should start appearing in stores next month leading up to Destiny 2's September 6 release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

So how about it? As far as product promotions and tie-ins go, this one sounds pretty sweet (pun intended). You know you were planning to play Destiny 2 all night long on launch day and skip work the next day anyway, so why not stock up on some energy drinks and win some prizes in the process?
