The arcade icon Pac-Man has been seeing kind of a resurgence as of late, between games like Pac-Man 256 and Pac-Man Championship Edition 2. But never in our wildest dreams did we think he'd team up with…Hello Kitty?

Yep, Sanrio and Bandai Namco have announced a partnership to bring together two great tastes in one mobile game, Hello Kitty Loves Pac-Man, which is now available to download in both Google Play and the Apple App Store, and it's free to play! We've included a gallery of screenshots and images for you to enjoy as well.

But on top of that, if you're attending San Diego Comic-Con, you'll also be able to pick up some special Hello Kitty Loves Pac-Man at the Sanrio booth. The merchandise will be available starting on July 20th at the BAIT booth (#5146), and will include t-shirts, caps, socks, tote bags, pins and a special collectible figurine set. The design will bring together both characters in the best way possible. More products are expected to be revealed this fall.

And anyone that visits either the Sanrio booth (#4737) or the BAIT booth will be able to score a free Hello Kitty Loves Pac-Man keychain as well!

"Hello Kitty and Pac-Man have both endeared themselves to pop culture fans around the world for decades, it's about time that these two became best-friends," said Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. "We look forward to celebrating this new friendship with fans at Comic-Con and have them experience the limited-time Hello Kitty update to the Pac-Man app as they chomp dots, weave through corners, and avoid colorful ghosts."

"Hello Kitty and Pac-Man are global icons with a crossover fan base," said Jill Koch, Sr. Vice President of Brand Management and Marketing at Sanrio, Inc. "Merging Hello Kitty into the pixelated world of Pac-Man is a gift both for fans that grew up with the brands and new fans alike."

The free-to-play game is definitely worth trying out, and also features a number of in-game integrations and themed levels. However, the content is only available for a limited time, through August 19th. So if you're a fan, you won't want to miss this party. Check out the trailer above as well!
