Injustice 2’s Red Hood Will Get A Gameplay Trailer This Weekend

This year's Combo Breaker event looks to be a pretty big one, as Injustice 2 will be making its competitive debut at the event, with throngs of players looking to show off their stuff in the just-released competitive fighting game. But the event will also bring some other big news that fans won't want to miss.

Ed Boon, the creative director for NetherRealm Studios (the developers behind the superhero brawling game), has revealed on Twitter that the debut trailer for Red Hood will be arriving on Sunday, May 28th, during the Combo Breaker event.

Red Hood was previously introduced as one of the first downloadable characters for Injustice 2, alongside Starfire and a very revamped Sub-Zero from NetherRealm's previously released Mortal Kombat X, complete with a redesign by Jim Lee.

It's unknown to what extent we'll be seeing Red Hood's gameplay, but, if previous character reveals are any indication, we'll more than likely see a number of his special moves in action, along with his super technique, which will no doubt involve him probably putting a number of bullets into someone (that's just a rough guess).

That could very well lead to more reveals for the game in the months ahead, as EVO 2017 isn't too far off – and Injustice 2 could have some kind of presence at the yearly fighting tournament. There's also E3, where we'll see Warner Bros. probably reveal something surrounding the game, as well as San Diego Comic-Con – and we all know how important that show was to Injustice: Gods Among Us years ago.

But for now, all eyes are on Combo Breaker, where competitors will prove their stuff in Injustice 2, followed by the reveal of Red Hood in all his glory.

A release date hasn't been given for the first DLC pack of characters just yet, but it's expected sometime this summer, with the other characters set to follow sometime later in the year. We could see more details as soon as this weekend, or later on during E3.

In the meantime, make sure you check out the Combo Breaker matches this weekend. You might learn a thing or two. (And check out our news following the trailer reveal as well, in case you miss its debut!)

Injustice 2 is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
