Junkie XL, the composer that has an impressive resume on his own not even counting his work with world renown Hans Zimmer, has just confirmed that he has just taken the helm of the upcoming Tomb Raider soundtrack for the film. The Dutch instrumentalist took to Instagram to confirm his latest "Film Score" with an epic image of actress Alicia Vikander as the infamous Lara Croft.
Junkie XL has been working as a composer in the industry since the mid-2000s and has since taken off to create wonderful work alongside Hans Zimmer on projects such as Inception and The Dark Knight Rises. He also has a pretty impressive resume all on his own, as well, with his work on the Mad Max: Fury Road, 300: Rise of an Empire, and Deadpool soundtracks.
The film itself is based off of the reboot games that first released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2013. The newly revamped narrative focused on a much younger Lara Croft to show how she became an established name as both an archaeologist and an adventurer. The origin story was met with an instantly positive reception, which then kicked off \Warner Bros partnering up with GK Films and MGM to make this vision see the big screen.
Tomb Raider will hit theaters in March 16th, 2018.
