Mortal Kombat Takes Center Stage During SNL Skit

Who DOESN'T want an excuse to talk about Mortal Kombat? With eSports on the rise and the competition season in the heat, Saturday Night Live decided not to let the opportunity go to waste to poke fun at the current state of competitive gaming. In a recent SNL sketch, two gamers go head to head in a total parody of Mortal Kombat and we're here for it.
The fan reactions to the skit were almost hilarious as the actual segment itself. My personal favourite comes from commenter Terry Smith: "Tiffany done broke the SNL record for the longest someone has whipped the Ne Ne in a skit. I don't know if that's a good thing, but she did it."
Pete Davidson and Kenan Thompson face off in the set up, with Kenan forced to play a character he is unfamiliar with. Hilarity ensues as Kenan does his best to fight with Boo Boo Jeffries (played by Tiffany Haddish) in a very comedic, and awful, fight. It may not be a new Mortal Kombat game, but it's something that's definitely worth the watch. FINISH HIM!
Saturday Night Live is a sketch comedy show that has been on the air since 1975! With the evolving cast, it continues to provide entertainment based on pop culture, current events, and more. To watch more of their inspired skits, including more than one humorous Star Wars spoof, you can check out SNL's official site right here.
