PlayStation 4 Has More Big Exclusives Than We Saw At E3, But Sony Chose Not To Show Them

No doubt about it, Sony is having another good E3, but their E3 2017 press conference wasn't quite the grand slam some recent ones were. Sure, we saw great stuff like God of War, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and Spider-Man, but they didn't deliver as many of those fan-pleasing "Oh my God!" moments as in the past. If it felt like Sony was holding back a bit, well, that's because they were.

In a recent interview with Indonesian gaming site Jagat Review (thanks to Push Square for the translation) Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida admitted the company intentionally didn't fire all their arrows at E3…

"There are things we have held back. We chose not to show those at E3 2017, but there will be some more news coming out from our teams later this year. No question."

That raises two questions – a) What games did they hold back, and b) When will we see them? We know The Last of Us Part II was left behind so the focus would remain on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and developer Sucker Punch are working on something new, likely an InFamous sequel, but other than that? It's hard to say. Sony likes to play things close to the vest. Personally, I'm hoping for a current-gen, 4K Ape Escape game.

Now, when might we learn about the mystery games? The most likely time is at Sony's PlayStation Expenerience event, which they're building into a bigger deal every year. Last year's PSX saw the reveal of The Last of Us Part II, so expect something equally big in 2017. Sony has announced PlayStation Experience 2017 will go down on December 9 and 10 in Anaheim.
