Pokemon Go's Next Loading Screen Revealed

06/21/2017 07:13 am EDT

Pikachu takes center stage unleashing a mighty Thunderbolt attack at the massive Pokemon, as Cyndaquil, Squirtle, Hoppip, and Sneasel all join in the action.

This is also the first time a loading screen has shown multiple Pokemon trainers at once.

The new loading screen is in reference to Pokemon Go's Raid system, a new game mechanic introduced in the most recent update. During raids, players from all three teams will work together to fight ultra-powerful Pokemon that temporarily takeover gyms. Beating the Raid Boss will earn a chance to capture that Pokemon, plus exclusive new items like Technical Machines and juiced up Golden Razz Berries.

The new Raid system will also be how Legendary Pokemon are eventually introduced into the game.

The new update also features an overhauled gym system that replaces "prestige" with motivation and drops the number of gym defenders from ten to six. The new gym system is designed to make gyms more active and easier for lower level players to enjoy.

The new update has already hit Android devices and should be available for Apple users sometime in the next 24-48 hours. The new gym system will go live once the update finishes its rollout.

Be sure to check out the new loading screen along with some of the loading screens that have been retired in the photo gallery at the top of the article.
