Super Nintendo World Details
According to the press release from when the Nintendo theme area was first announced back in November 2016, Super Nintendo World is an unparalleled ride and attraction (scheduled to be the world's first ride utilizing state-of-the-art technology).
Super Nintendo World is a huge complex area with two layers with shops and restaurants, and the investment amount is expected to be more than 50 billion yen. Super Nintendo World will be built by extending the park area to the parking lot.
Professor Emeritus Katsuhiro Miyamoto of Kansai University estimates that the economic effect created by Universal Studios Japan for 10 years after the opening of Super Nintendo is about 6.2 trillion yen in the Kinki region, about 11.7 trillion yen in the whole country.
Super Nintendo World gathers a large number of Nintendo characters worldwide, with a focus on the "Super Mario" series. Super Nintendo world is scheduled to open before the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games are held.
Mario Kart Ride
Due to a Nintendo trademark filing, it was speculated by WWG earlier this year that a Mario Kart Ride would be part of Super Nintendo World. Part of Nintendo's trademark filing noted: "...organization, management or arrangement of entertainment shows and events, namely, amusement park shows and special events at an amusement park; organization, management or arrangement of kart racing; organization, management or arrangement of motorcycle events and other events with vehicles; providing amusement facilities; providing amusement parks services" (emphasis ours).
During today's official announcement, Nintendo and Universal executives confirmed that one of Super Nintendo World's main attractions would be a Mario Kart themed ride.
