The final chapter of the latest The Walking Dead series from Telltale games is almost at hand. The Waking Dead: A New Frontier Episode 5: 'From the Gallows' drops next Tuesday, May 30, and will bring this emotional, harrowing journey to an end at last. In preparation for that special day, Telltale as put together a developer interview as a kind of season recap. Find out how fans of the series handled this season's most gripping choices, and hear from the developers themselves about how these twists and turns came to be -- and how they'll affect you all next week (spoilers ahead):
The Walking Dead A New Frontier - Your Choicesby WWG
Adam Douglas, lead writer for From the Gallows, tells us that at Telltale they take special pride in creating what they call "rage pausers." These are the moments where you're faced with an impossibly tough decision, and you're forced to pause the game, throw down your controller, and take a walk around your house or apartment while you decide what to do. Very often the choices you make in The Walking Dead: A New Frontier mean the difference between life and death for someone that you've grown attached to, or else devastating loss for yourself.
We're told that From the Gallows will have its fair share of rage pausers, so you better steel your heart and get ready to make some tough choices. We know that the curtains will be drawing closed at the end of the episode, so fireworks are definitely on the way.
As for what you'll see before the credits roll, that's anyone's guess. You guys have made some hugely divisive choices over the course of the first four episodes, as outlined in the trailer above. As you can see, something as simple as a romantic kiss can lead to plot-changing altercations and violence, so think twice before making even the fun or "lighthearted" decisions.
"The Walking Dead: A New Frontier acts as both a new beginning for players fresh to the series and unfamiliar with Clementine, as well as a continuation for players who have experienced Seasons One and Two. Players new to the series are able to start a story that is tailored to this new beginning. Players continuing onward from prior seasons have multiple options for quickly configuring their tailored backstory, or importing past save files from various platforms."
