Artwork For Marvel's Secret USAvengers #1 Variant Revealed

Marvel Comics today launched USAvengers #1, the first issue of a new series from writer Al Ewing and artist Paco Medina.

Marvel put a big push behind USAvengers, launching it with more than 50 variant covers linking one Avenger to one of the 50 states, plus Puerto Rico, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Today, certain retailers were surprised to find one additional variant cover in their order. This one wasn't keyed into any particular state, territory, or country, and rather than feature a single Avengers, the cover features a trio of the Avengers most popular members.

Phil Noto draws the variant cover, which features classic renditions of Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man, the Avengers "trinity" that many still consider the foundation of the team and franchise today.

"I love what Phil Noto did with this variant, a gorgeous piece of art and a total surprise to get something this awesome," Dennis Barger of Wonderworld Comics in Detroit, Mich. tells ComicBook.com.

Retailers who ordered a full set of USAvengers state variants were able to add the Noto variant to their order, though Noto's artwork wasn't revealed until shipments arrived at stores.
