Brie Larson Comments On Captain Marvel's On-Screen Look

Fans can't wait to see the talented actress Brie Larson take on the role of Carol Danvers, known better to most as Captain Marvel. Larson's quite excited as well but knows some will inevitably be disappointed with how the character is portrayed onscreen.

Larson is currently promoting her upcoming epic Kong: Skull Island but recently took a few minutes to talk Captain Marvel to IGN (via ComicBookMovie), which is currently holding a 3.82 out of 5 on ComicBook.com's anticipation rankings. When asked about the costume, Larson said "I can't say anything… I feel like this is a big conversation and every day I have people yelling at me on Twitter like you better have long hair, or you better have a mohawk, or you better wear the helmet, or you better not wear the helmet, so someone's going to be mad."

The character has gone through several looks over the years, but the current suit has become the defacto standard for the character. Whether Larson is rocking a mohawk, long hair, or short hair, she's going to be amazing in the role, so everyone can probably take a deep breath.

Larson went on to talk about what playing the character means to her, saying "I find it's really hard for me to condense what she means to me. I was once a young girl and I was confused by what a hero was and what I wanted to be when I grow up and what was important to me. And so, I think it's so complicated growing up and to attempt to become a symbol of truth and navigating through all the weird questions of growing up feels so, I'm getting emotional just talking about this, it feels so important to me. When it comes to her, I mean just the fact that she can be a bridge between two worlds, that she can go between Earth and space and that her own personal place is in this little area between where Earth ends and space begins and that's only hers is so moving to me. I'm just inspired."

Larson is set to appear next in Avengers: Infinity War before launching into her own solo feature.

Next up for Marvel is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on May 5, 2017. Spider-Man: Homecoming lands on July 7, 2017, followed by Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017. After that Black Panther debuts on February 16, 2018, while Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018. Ant-Man and the Wasp is slated for July 6, 2018, followed by Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019.
