Marvel's Defenders Early Reviews Are Strong

There have been a couple of ups and downs, but generally Marvel fans tend to respond well to the Netflix series. The Defenders doesn't seem to be any different, and the early critical response should get people excited.

The forthcoming 8-episode series is earning some favorable reviews for the first few episodes and is sitting pretty with an 80% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Of course this could all change once the show goes live on Netflix in a couple weeks and the viewing public is able to watch it. And it is only aggregating the response to the first four episodes thus far.

Maybe the last four episodes aren't very good, or maybe the public will be at odds with the critics.

Either way, the early Rotten Tomatoes rating is a promising indication of the show's quality. The Defenders seems to be another step in the right direction for Netflix and Marvel.

For comparison, Luke Cage is the highest rated at 96%, Jessica Jones at 92%, Daredevil sits at 86%, and Iron Fist is at 17%.

We'll find out how Marvel's The Defenders holds up when the series goes live on Netflix on August 18.

Marvel's The Defenders follows Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones). A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.

Marvel's The Defenders is developed by Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez. The miniseries will also feature Sigourney Weaver as the villain, Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver), and several recurring guest stars from Marvel's Daredevil, Marvel's Jessica Jones, Marvel's Luke Cage, and Marvel's Iron Fist, including Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Scott Glenn as Stick, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing.
