Marvel Expansion Coming To Disneyland In California

Just announced at Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim, Marvel fans can look forward to a brand new immersive experience featuring some of their most favorite characters.

After initially bringing the Marvel Universe into Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim with the Guardians Of The Galaxy - Mission: Breakout ride, Disney Imagineers are going to expand that to include Earth's Mightiest Heroes and your favorite Friendly Neighborhood crimefighter.

Disney Parks chairman Bob Chapek announced the newest expansion to Disney's California Adventure with a little help from the cutest Guardian of the Galaxy: Baby Groot.

Chapek first pointed out the hatch with the Avengers logo in front of the Collector's base which houses the Guardians ride, to which Baby Groot responded, "I am Groot."

"I think they're pretty excited to see you too," Chapek replied.

"I am Groot."

"What do you mean?" Chapek said. "They love you!"

"I know, I know, there's 7,000 people out there"

"Groot, we talked about this during rehearsal, you weren't supposed to tell them all that. It's way too early!" Chapek said.

"I am Groot."

"Alright, since Groot spilled the beans, I might as well elaborate," Chapek relented.

He then said that the Avengers and Spider-Man would be joining the Guardians in a new expansion to the park that will create a "completely immersive super hero world at Disney's California Adventure."

No name, date, or images were revealed with the announcement, but after rumblings of more Marvel attractions being planned after Star Wars Land finally opens, this is the first confirmation we've received. Instead of utilizing park space like Mission: Breakout did of the Twilight Zone's Tower of Terror ride, this seems like a massive expansion.
