Exclusive: Guardians Of The Galaxy The Complete History Cover

In 2014, the Guardians of the Galaxy broke into the pop culture consciousness through a hit Marvel Studios film. But the history of the Guardians of the Galaxy goes back much, much further than that.

This April, Insight Edition will release a new book covering the entire existence of the Guardians of the Galaxy. The new book is titled Guardians of the Galaxy: Creating Marvel's Spacefaring Heroes. Written by Mark Sumerak, the book goes all the way back to the creation of the Guardians of the Galaxy in 1969 to trace their entire comic book history in art book form, featuring some of the greatest Guardians of the galaxy art ever created by some of the greatest Marvel Comics artist to ever work on the characters..

It all begins with the cover. ComicBook.com can exclusively reveal the cover to Guardians of the Galaxy: Creating Marvel's Spacefaring Heroes. The cover is by comic book artist Dale Keown and features several members of the Guardians of the Galaxy. They include cinema stars Star-Lord, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Drax the Destroyer and Gamora, as well as deeper cuts Moondragon and Starhawk.
