When Disney finally acquired Marvel Studios back in 2009, fans rightly began wondering whether the company's theme parks would be getting a few rides. However, those wishes were derailed thanks to Universal Studios as its parks already have rights to Marvel theme park attractions. As such, Disney Parks was left tied-up over its recent comic book acquisition, but the company didn't stay down for long. Over in China, the pop culture monolith has been preparing a rather special Marvel attraction for Hong Kong Disneyland.

And, now, fans can get a first-look at the ride thanks to new POV footage from the attraction.

Known as the Iron Man Experience, the first Marvel-based attraction at Hong Kong Disneyland will not officially open until January 11, 2017. The ride has been softly opened to the public to give it a test-run, and some fans have already uploaded videos of the thrilling attraction to Youtube.

Walking into the experience, fans are thrust into a world only known to superheroes and comic book characters. The hi-tech facility is mean to replicate the Stark Expo as the ride is set in the even. Its storyline finds Tony Stark in Hong Kong for the Expo as he opens a new tower in the city that is powered by his biggest arc reactor yet. Those visitors who get on the ride are meant to be testing out one of Stark's newest vehicles, but they get sidetracked when Hydra attempts to steal Stark's arc reactor and cause general mayhem.

Once fans enter the attraction, they are treated to dozens of fancy toys and life-size props from the Iron Man movies. As for the ride itself, its set-up does not appear to be too groundbreaking. If you are familiar with the Star Tours attraction, then you will know what to expect from the Iron Man Experience. Fans are given 3D glasses and placed in an enclosed simulator ride that features a massive screen. A narrative video is played while the ride jerks around appropriately, and fans can even do a meet-and-greet with Iron Man after the attraction ends.

Earlier this year, fans were teased about the Iron Man ride by Red Robledo, creative executive at Disney Parks. He told fans it would be like they were stepping into "a very large Iron Man suit," while story developer Steven Spiegel commented on its setting.

"We've set this up as the next Stark Expo after the one he did in 2010 in New York," executive story developer Steven Spiegel said. "He is showcasing his latest and greatest products from Stark Industries."

Even Stan Lee gushed about the long-awaited project earlier in the year. "I think the audience in Hong Kong will go crazy for this experience," the geek icon and comics creator said. "Anybody who goes to a Disney theme park loves color and spectacle and excitement and adventure, and that's all that Iron Man is. It embodies all of those things. I didn't dream it would be such a big production and such a beautiful production. There's something about Iron Man that seems to fascinate people."
