Given the massive financial and critical success of Guardians of the Galaxy, it would be no surprise if Marvel wanted to take some of their other massively-successful Avengers characters to space.
...But it's not Marvel who's talking about it; fans and the press have been the ones to repeatedly bring up the idea of Planet Hulk...and now, actor Mark Ruffalo.
Here's part of a conversation between Ruffalo, his co-star/onscreen love interest Scarlett Johansson and IGN:
Mark Ruffalo: "I think there's a lot of places to go with him [Hulk]."
Scarlett Johansson: "Like where?"
IGN: "Space?"
Ruffalo: "Well he's going to space. Yeah, I mean there's some talk of maybe Planet Hulk."
IGN: "Would you like to see that?"
Ruffalo: "I'd be completely interested in entertaining that."
The Planet Hulk rumors have been everywhere for years, starting before Guardians ever took the Marvel Universe cosmic. Of course, a few choice words from the actor...? Even the original report notes that it could come to very little.
The Incredible Hulk will appear next in Avengers: Age of Ultron, due in theaters May 1.
