The Scorpion Strikes In First Look At Marvel's Spider-Man Animated Series

It's a wonderful time to be a Spider-Man fan, and later this year audiences will be getting another reason to celebrate with the new Spider-Man animated series from Disney XD. Now you can get your first look at the new show.

The sneak peek brings an old Spidey favorite to the party, as Scorpion attempts to steal a prized jewel. Peter Parker can be seen in his red and blue hoodie costume, if you can call that a costume mind you, which has been spotted in the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailers as well.

The action is fast and plentiful, and of course, Spidey is cracking jokes non-stop. Next time though someone should tell him not to worry about swiping his card at the Subway terminal, as authorities can clearly see he has a charging man in a scorpion suit on his tail.

You can watch the full sneak peek of the animated series in the video above, and the synopsis for Spider-Man: Homecoming can be found below. Homecoming currently has a 4.13 out of 5 on ComicBook.com's anticipation rankings, and if you haven't voted yet you can do so now here.

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

The cast includes Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, with Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr. It also includes Jon Favreau, Martin Starr, Kenneth Choi, Michael Mando, Selenis Leyva, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg, Jr., JJ Totah, and Hannibal Buress.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is in theaters now. Spider-Man: Homecoming lands on July 7, 2017, followed by Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017. After that Black Panther debuts on February 16, 2018, while Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018. Ant-Man and the Wasp is slated for July 6, 2018, followed by Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019.
