Marvel's Inhumans Synopsis Reportedly Released

Marvel Studios may have a lot of its plate, but the company isn't slowing down in the face of a crammed schedule. The studio's cinematic universe will continue to grow in theaters in 2017 thanks to titles like Thor: Ragnarok. The small screen will also carry on as Agents of SHIELD recently made its midseason return, and The Defenders will hit Netflix later in the year. Marvel will also roll out another big project with The Inhumans, a hybrid series which will be aired in theaters and on cable. And, now, a rather revealing synopsis for the anticipated project has hit the Internet.

According to Spoiler TV (via CinemaBlend), a short but sweet description of the show has been made public. You can read up on the synopsis below:

"After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself."

If you are familiar with The Inhumans, then the synopsis will sound familiar. A coup is nothing new to the superhuman crew as the Royal Family has been threatened by a character known as Maximus multiple times. The unsavory villain is a major player in The Inhumans series, and Maximus as stage more than one successful coup during his lifetime.

With the military under his control, Maximus seems to have forced the Royal Family to Earth. The synopsis indicates the group will wind up in Hawaii, and their interactions with the unfamiliar world will throw them for a loop. It's no clear right now how closely the series will tie-in with Agents of SHIELD, but fans are hoping the new show will have a general awareness at the very least.

After all, Agents of SHIELD has dedicated a lot of screentime to the Inhumans race. The beings have inundated the show, and one of its leads Daisy Johnson has used her newfound powers to adopt the moniker Quake in the show's current season.

There is no word from ABC regarding the new description, but the summary does have fans intrigued. Of course, many wonder whether the Inhumans will get to revisit Attilan, their canonical home planet - and the possibility seems likely. With IMAX providing support for the project, Marvel has more room to give The Inhumans a larger scale than its previous TV series.
