New Agents Of SHIELD Synopsis Teases Major Development For Director Mace

Pretty soon, Agents of SHIELD will be making its return to televisions after a short hiatus. The drama's midseason premiere is set to debut on January 10th over on ABC, and fans will be treated to a brand-new story arc when it comes. The series will be trading in Ghost Rider for a slew of Life-Model Decoys, and now synopses for future Agents of SHIELD episodes are hitting the Internet. Earlier today, the description for the fourth season's tenth episode was released by ABC, and it teases some major changes for SHIELD Director Jeffrey Mace.

Written by James C. Oliver and Sharla Oliver, "The Patriot" is obviously connected in someway to Director Mace and his Inhuman gifts. In the comics, Jeffrey Mace was introduced as a loyal fan of Captain America's who was eventually gifted superhuman powers himself. The character then became a hero who operated under the moniker 'The Patriot' before he suited up as Captain America post-WWII.

Here's the official synopsis for Agents of SHIELD's 'LMD' story arc:

"On the heels of their encounter with Ghost Rider, their strangest phenomenon yet, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. suddenly find themselves up against a myriad of new and ongoing threats: The anti-Inhuman Watchdogs are gaining political influence with Senator Nadeer, and uniting behind a mysterious benefactor. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the team, Aida has kidnapped Agent May and replaced her with a Life Model Decoy. Aida's evil plans for May and the team remain a mystery."

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso "Mack" MacKenzie and John Hannah as Holden Radcliffe.
