Russo Brothers Tease Mystery Kiss In Captain America: Civil War

Co-director Joe Russo has already teased that Captain America: Civil War will be a love story, though that was referring more to the brotherly love between Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes. Still, is it possible we could see some PDA in Captain America: Civil War, specifically the form of a kiss?

The question came up during Q&A session that both Joe and Anthony Russo held on Facebook. While Joe was evasive, Anthony was a bit more willing to tease out the possibility,

"I say we plead the fifth." Joe said, but Anthony teased, "There may be a kiss in Civil War." Joe interjected, saying, "There might not be," but Anthony concluded by challenging fans, adding, "But I bet you can't guess which characters it's between."

Fans likely remember that Captain America: The Winter Soldier, also directed by the Russos, had a surprising kiss scene between Black Widow and Captain America, though that was a kiss of necessity – they were trying to hide their faces – rather than passion.

So who could end up kissing in Civil War? Well, the possibilities are endless, as the Black Widow and Captain America kiss proves, but likely suspects could be the Scarlet Witch and Vision. The two Avengers have a romantic history in the comics, and Scarlet Witch actress Elizabeth Olsen has teased a connection between them. Of course, it could be as innocuous as Hawkeye kissing his wife, Laura Barton, who was introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron, though there's been no indication that Linda Cardellini is appearing in Civil War.

Marvel's Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark's surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
