Spider-Man: Homecoming Actor Confirmed For Avengers: Infinity War

07/09/2017 01:18 am EDT

An actor from the Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures collaboration Spider-Man: Homecoming just confirmed her involvement in the next major crossover movie, which could reveal some plot implications for Avengers: Infinity War.

Isabella Amara plays Sally, one of Peter Parker's classmates and a team on the academic decathlon team. She doesn't have a huge role in the film, but she does feature in multiple scenes in the movie.

While speaking with BlackFilm.com, Amara revealed that her character will appear in the highly anticipated Avengers sequel.

"I'm in Spider-Man: Homecoming & Avengers: Infinity War," Amara said. "They are filming both Infinity Wars back to back but I'm only in the first one."

In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Peter will not commit to anything that might jeopardize his ability to join the Avengers on another mission should they need him, prompting him to initially drop out of the decathlon team among other activities. In fact, he only joins the team so he can catch a ride on their way to Nationals to Washington D.C., where the Vulture's base of operations is based.

By the end of the film, though, Parker reevaluates his priorities and decides to refocus on his studies while remaining the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

The timing might be a little poor, because it sounds like the Avengers are going to need his help in the battle against Thanos and his cronies when the Infinity War begins to rage.

Will Spidey be at a school event like a decathlon practice when Happy Hogan rings his cell? We'll find out when Avengers: Infinity War premieres May 4, 2018.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is in theaters now!

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

The cast includes Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, JacobBatalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, with Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr. It also includes Jon Favreau, Martin Starr, Kenneth Choi, Michael Mando, Selenis Leyva, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg, Jr., JJ Totah, and Hannibal Buress.
