Thor: Ragnarok Director Taika Waititi Reveals His Cameo

Mainstream audiences may not be all that familiar with the name Taika Waititi yet, but that's set to change this year when the filmmaker's biggest project yet, Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok, hits theaters.

Following in the proud tradition of filmmakers like Alfred Hitchcock, Waititi has himself appeared in every movie he's ever made, and now we know that tradition will continue with Thor: Ragnarok.

Speaking to The A.V. Club recently, Waititi confirmed his Thor: Ragnarok cameo, saying, "It's not like a thing that I've ever planned, but now I'm in all of my movies in a small role or a larger role. I'll probably just keep doing that. It's like a dumb thing I do now."

No telling where Waititi will pop up in Thor: Ragnarok - but fans will be busy keeping an eye out, as the film will feature cameos from Marvel characters like The Hulk and Doctor Strange, not to mention the introduction of new characters played by big names like Cate Blanchett and Karl Urban.

Given the visual splendor and elaborate costumes/makeup of Asgard and the cosmic realms, spotting Waititi at all could be a real challenge. Although, it's an Easter egg challenge that Marvel fans will definitely accept.

In Marvel Studios' Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first, he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!

Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi and returns Chris Hemsworth starring as Thor and Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki. They are joined by Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban, with Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.

Thor: Ragnarok opens in theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
