Later this year, Thor will be coming back to theaters in his third solo venture. Thor: Ragnarok is slated to hit theaters in November, but things have been quiet on the film's front. However, that is all starting to change. Not long ago, Disney released a first-look image at Thor: Ragnarok, and the photo features a very familiar face.

The image shows Chris Hemsworth dressed in-character as Thor complete with cape and all. Dressed head-to-toe in leather, Chris is sporting his character's traditional long, blonde locks and can be seen looking towards director Taika Waititi. The New Zealand director is shown giving the Australian actor directions behind-the-scenes as they continue shooting on set for the superhero flick. You can check out the photo in our gallery below!

Production on Thor: Ragnarok has already wrapped, and the film is on its way to post-production. In the coming months, fans can expect to get more information about the film, but a few juicy tidbits have already dropped. "If you need even more intergalactic, world-saving action, Thor: Ragnarok in November brings together Thor, the Hulk, and Doctor Strange to face off against intergalactic baddies both familiar and new," the site read.

And, even more excitingly, a brand-new synopsis for Thor: Ragnarok has dropped which you can read below:

"In Marvel Studios' Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!"

The cast of Thor: Ragnarok features returning stars Chris Hemsworth (Rush) in the title role for the fifth time; Tom Hiddleston (Kong: Skull Island) as Thor's adversarial, adopted brother, Loki; Idris Elba (The Dark Tower) as the Asgardian sentry, Heimdall; and Sir Anthony Hopkins (Silence of the Lambs) again portraying Odin, Ruler of Asgard.
