Deadpool Movie To Break $300 Million At Domestic Box Office Today

Deadpool will cross the $300 million mark at the domestic box office sometime today.
The film, which earned a little less than $5 million at Friday screenings this week, finished last night with over $299 million.
By the end of the weekend, it may have $100 million more than the lifetime theatrical gross of 300, the former highest-grossing R-rated comic book adaptation of all time. That film had a lifetime gross of $210 million domestically -- and Deadpool, if it eclipsed that number, would pass Return of the Jedi to enter the top 50 highest-grossing movies of all time at the North American box office.
Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
