JK Rowling was never afraid to kill off major Harry Potter characters, but she's now feeling some remorse for one of these. In a tweet on Tuesday, the legendary author apologized to fans for killing Professor Severus Snape.

Rowling expects a lot of backlash from fans over this one, as they've always wished the character was still alive. In the tweet, she talked about running for cover, and preparing for the fan reactions.

While Snape was a villain when the series began, it was revealed that he was one of the heroes all along. He was in love with Harry's mother when they were younger, and he spent most of his life trying to protect the boy.

In the end, the sacrifice for Harry led to Snape losing his life. Fans were devastated by the tragic event, and Rowling is starting to feel a little bad about doing it.

Rowling has become known for this action over the last couple of years. She has also apologized for killing Lupin and Fred.
