Mad Max: Fury Road Is Returning To IMAX Theaters

Mad Max: Fury Road is returning to IMAX theaters for one last bow this summer. The film that was voted best of the year by the International Federation of Film Critics will screen for one night only on Sept. 11.

Mad Max: Fury Road made over $374 million at the worldwide box office, and was arguably the most buzzed about film of the summer. thanks to director George Miller's visually stunning world and thrilling action sequences, and Charlize Theron's show stealing performance as instant feminist icon Imperator Furiosa. Fury Road was a film 30 years in the making, and marked Miller's return to the cult action series he began with Mad Max in 1979.

In Mad Max: Fury Road,years after the collapse of civilization, the tyrannical Immortan Joe enslaves apocalypse survivors inside the desert fortress the Citadel. When the warrior Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) leads the despot's five wives in a daring escape, she forges an alliance with Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), a loner and former captive. Fortified in the massive, armored truck the War Rig, they try to outrun the ruthless warlord and his henchmen in a deadly high-speed chase through the Wasteland.

Mad Max: Fury Road is available now on Blu-ray and DVD.
