The next installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise has been in production for over a month. And now, it has added yet another A-Lister to its impressive cast.

Deadline is reporting that Angela Bassett will begin work on Mission: Impossible 6 next week. The actress is best known for her award-winning performance in What's Love Got To Do With It, as well as appearances in Boyz n the Hood, and Malcolm X. Most recently, the actress has forayed into television, appearing in American Horror Story, BoJack Horseman, and the recently-released second season of Masters of None.

Bassett's role in the Christopher McQuarrie-directed film will be as the CIA director.

Joining Bassett in the film will be franchise alums Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, and Alec Baldwin. Other new additions include DCEU star Henry Cavill, Sherlock's Sian Brooke, and The Crown alum Vanessa Kirby.

This isn't the only franchise fans can see Bassett in in 2018. The actress has already wrapped filming her role as Ramonda, the mother of Black Panther's title character.

Mission: Impossible 6 is scheduled to hit theaters July 27, 2018.
