Filming Has Wrapped On The Predator

The next installment of the Predator franchise, Shane Black's The Predator, has been highly anticipated by fans for quite a bit of time. And now, it just got one step closer to appearing on screens.

One of the film's cast members, Jacob Tremblay, has taken to Twitter to announce that his work on the production of the film is complete. In a recent tweet, which you can see below, Tremblay is seen in his cast chair on the film's set. The tweet even includes a reference to the catchphrase used by the franchise's original star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, in the first film.

It's unclear if this means the entire production has already wrapped, or just Tremblay's portion. But seeing as Tremblay seems to have a significant role in The Predator - as well as the fact that production began in February of this year - it's safe to assume that production is near complete.

For those who are skeptical about the newest installment of the franchise, there are quite a few reasons to be excited. Aside from its's impressive cast, as well as Black's ties to the original film, the production has promised to use practical effects with the film's titular alien.

The Predator is being directed by Shane Black, who is best known to our community for directing and co-writing Iron Man 3 (2013) as well as penning Lethal Weapon (1987). Black co-wrote The Predator script with Fred Dekker (RoboCop 3).

The film is a sequel, not a reboot, and will acknowledge events from the first two films in the sci-fi action series: Predator (1987) and Predator 2 (1990).

The cast features Boyd Holbrook (Narcos, Logan), Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse, Office Christmas Party), Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), Sterling K. Brown (The People v. O. J. Simpson), Jacob Tremblay (Room), Thomas Jane (The Punisher), Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), Augusto Aguilera (Chasing Life), and Jake Busey (Starship Troopers).

The Predator hits theaters on August 3, 2018.
