Transformers: The Last Knight is going to be hitting theaters next week, and there's been some extensive online debate about what story the film tell, and just how long it will take to tell it.

Recently it was rumored that Transformers 5 would run 3 hours long - a claim that Michael Bay came out and called false, stating that The Last Knight would be shorter than the last few installments of the series. As it turns out, that statement was only somewhat true, as Transformers: The Last Knight has now been confirmed to run 149 minutes - which is 2 hours and 29 minutes.

Screen Rant shared the Transformers 5 runtime from two different sources: first, the British Board of Film Classification had the 149-minute time, while IMDb has the film's time listed as 148 minutes.

For a frame of reference, here is how long all of Transformers movies have run (starting with the most recent). HINT: They've only gotten longer as the series has gone on:

In other words: little about Michael Bay's approach to these films has changed - including how long you have to sit through them.
